Same date, late at night
Hey everyone,
I’ll try not to take too much of your time, even though I had a very long day (or so it felt) and there is so much to write about. Kay, to start, as you can tell my computer was fixed. Yay!!!!!! Thank you Itzik!!!!!!!!! To continue off where I last left off today. I took my shower, did my hair (and nails, got to take advantage of not having school) and decided on what to wear. My dad went out to buy food in the store so we can make sandwiches for the way, which we didn’t eat in the end. My grand- father came and at 12:50 and we were on our way. But first my dad had to drop something off at his friend who was in the hospital. Since my grand- father didn’t know how to get there it took us almost two hours until we found the place, dropped off the stuff and left. Then we went to- what they call here- Kenyon (a mall). There my uncle, Arieh, has a pizza shop. Although we didn’t eat pizza (it wasn’t our hechser) we did eat falafel and took a bunch of pictures. (All pictures will be uploaded in the end.)Then we went across the street from the Kenyon to a jewelry store to fix my mom’s broken bracelet and Devora’s necklace. There my grand-father also bought me a NEW gold necklace. I got to pick out the chain and all! Aren’t I lucky! After that was done we decided that it was already too late for Tel-Aviv and decided instead to go visit my aunt, Rezina, in Ramleh (spelled Ramla). But before I went to my grand-father’s house becuz he had to feed the chickens (don’t ask). Then we continued on to Rezina’s where I met 4 of my 6 cousins. The other two go to a boarding school so they weren’t home. Devorah and Sterna incase you guys are wondering I did see Hodaya and she is the cutest. Just looking at her you think she a little whatever but you have to really be there to see her speak and walk and everything. She is the cutest no doubt about it.It was already dark outside and we left to go visit Yehudit. But on the way something happened. We were in a small car crash! Gitty, remember what happened when we were coming back from Yom Kipper in Toronto, the small bang when my mom backed up. It was nothing like that. I was sitting in the front and we were driving extremely fast (remind me later to complain about how fast these Israelis drive!) when the car in front of us stopped suddenly. My grand-father quickly saw this and pressed on the brakes, hard! The car stopped inches from the vehicle in front of us, but the car behind us wasn’t as lucky. They saw us brake and tried to stop but not in time. They crashed into us and we were thrown forwards. You know that sometimes characters in books say that they heard someone screaming and didn’t realize at first that it was them. Well that’s what happened to me. I didn’t realize that I had let out a shriek until after. Don’t worry, everything is okay and no one was hurt. Although it was a pretty bad shock. The paramedics or something like that came and made sure that I and everyone else was alright (they spoke to me in Hebrew, they were so nice!) and then left. My grand-father and the other driver exchanged information and then we continued on the way with a bump in our trunk. We got to Yehudit’s house and I saw my twin cousins for the first time. They were already in pajamas but when I told them that I wanted to take pictures of them their mother got them into dresses. We again took a whole bunch of pictures and then right before I left I read them a bed time story. They loved it. Oh wait, I almost forgot! While I was in Yehudit’s house two of my other cousins came (my other aunt’s, Carmela’s, sons). We were suppose to go visit Carmela after ward but they had a Kong-fu lesson that ended late and they were scared that they wouldn’t get to see me, so they came. We sat, we ate and then we left. Next was Carmela’s place. The minute we rung the doorbell the dog started barking. YES, a dog! A golden retriever to be precise. I think I enjoyed myself the most at her house. First, I already knew my aunt and uncle (all the other’s I hadn’t really met before or only seen them once a long time ago) they come every year in the summer to our place. Second, their place felt like home and I mean that! Third, they had a baby! Duh! He’s a year and 7 months. At first he was shy but slowly he got used to me. At the end of the night before we went home he was already running to me and would refuse to leave my arms for his father or his mother. My two cousins came back from their Kong-fu lesson turns out their teacher was out of town and they had forgotten about it. My uncle fixed my computer and installed Hebrew into the system. יחעוגאדווא see! My aunt and uncle brought me home, the baby came with us, he fell asleep on the way there. And here I am.
No more for tonight. I have another, hopefully, big day tomorrow.
Lots of love,
Ur Chaya, all the way from Israel
